Canadian Wine Laws?

Anyone on the Forums that knows the wine laws in Canada? I’m heading to Quebec City and I’m wondering if it’s ok to take the remainder of a bottle bought bought and not finished at a restaurant?

Thanks in advance!

If they allow corkage and a “recorker” yes, if not - very unlikely. QC doesn’t have many/any corkage friendly spots in the old town, that I recall.
Worth calling ahead (not email) and speaking French if possible.

Lists aren’t usually too bad, other than pricing which is offset by your US$

Wine laws are different from province-to-province, but both Ontario and Quebec allow you to take the rest home - even if you buy the wine of a restaurant wine list. I suggest you mention to your waiter to hold onto the cork as you may not finish the entire bottle and want to take the rest with you. They’ll just jam the cork back in flush and then you can take it with you.

Note that open-container liquor laws note that if you are driving (for some reason) the alcohol needs to be out of the reach of the driver, and therefore placed in the trunk. Never seen this be an issue if you are in a cab or an Uber.
