1985 ch. Canon length of decant?

Planning on opening a '85 Canon. How long should I decant? Anyone had this recently to give me an insight on where they are?

Not having had this recently if I was in your shoes, without better advice, I would stand up in a cool dark place for a few days then pop it and start pouring after half an hour and take it from there.

Havent had the 85 canon recently, but other 85s I have opened in the last month (cheval blanc and palmer) have both drunk ok from a pop and pour and improved a fair bit with up to 3 hours of decanting.

I have one that I’m waiting to open as well. Let me know what you end up doing. TIA!

I’m with Ian. The 85’s can show their age, so I’d err on the side of caution. Assuming you’ll drink it over a couple of hours, I’d only decant a half hour or so before you drink it.
