TN: 2014 Jean-Claude Ramonet Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Ruchottes

  • 2014 Jean-Claude Ramonet Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Ruchottes - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru (8/19/2019)
A gorgeous nose of honeysuckle, white peach and aniseed. It is intense and sappy in the mouth, but also has a lightness of touch. Flavours build and it is is cut by a fine line of minerally acidity. There’s plenty of chalky dry extract to the back-end and it is so beautifully balanced and proportioned. I reckon this is close to Grand Cru quality in most years. In 2014 it is Grand Cru quality.

I love this wine. Thanks for the note Jeremy.

mouthwatering note. Love 14 Ramonet. I’ve had to step down to premier cru after being priced out of grand but it’s one small step in quality for man and a giant leap in price for mankind.
