2014 Jean-Claude Ramonet Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Ruchottes - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru (8/19/2019)
A gorgeous nose of honeysuckle, white peach and aniseed. It is intense and sappy in the mouth, but also has a lightness of touch. Flavours build and it is is cut by a fine line of minerally acidity. There’s plenty of chalky dry extract to the back-end and it is so beautifully balanced and proportioned. I reckon this is close to Grand Cru quality in most years. In 2014 it is Grand Cru quality.
