TN: 1998 Château Lafleur-Gazin (France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol)

Bought a case of this en primeur 20 years ago. It is absolutely singing today. Gorgeous nose of violets, plums and blackberries. It is still very fresh, almost primary. The palate is lush, with velvety tannins yet there is good detail and clarity. A kiss of minerally acidity punctuates the long finish.

Nice!

1998 right bank with a little air are drinking really well.

Most if not all 1998 right bankers are very good now if from good producers. Definitely the best vintage between 1990 and 2009/10 in St.Em. and Pomerol, even better than 2005 imho.

I had one of these a few months ago too
