2002 Domaine Michel Gros Hautes Cotes de Nuits Bourgogne Rouge
Varietally correct.
Good acid.
Nice bricking with accompanying brownish synthesia.
Excellent palate weight [owing to the vintage, I suppose].
No further cellaring necessary; drink now; pop-n-pour.
A perfect accompaniment for dinner, especially if you’re eating leftovers.
Easily the best value Pinot Noir in our market since forever.
glad you found something you enjoyed. Sounds super.
I really, really, really liked the price.
Made me feel like a little boy again.
I immensely enjoy the wines of Michel Gros, from the low budget Hautes-Cotes-de-Nuits to the GC Clos Vougeot.
The two 1er Crus Clos des Reas and Brulees are usually very fine, all age formidable.
Sadly he lost the Richebourg to A-F Gros (after 1995).
I do not understand the aversion against him here - cannot remember a disapointing wine from him.
