TN: 2015 Jean-Claude Ramonet Puligny-Montrachet Les Enseignères

  • 2015 Jean-Claude Ramonet Puligny-Montrachet Les Enseignères - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet (8/11/2019)
Ripe peach fruits are trimmed with aniseed spice. It is full, rich and sappy and is a big Puligny, but possesses the usual Ramonet elegance and lightness of touch. Length is good and I’ll hold remaining bottles to develop a bit more complexity.

Enseignères was one of the successes in their 2015 range. One of the less fat, livelier bottlings.

The Ruchottes unfortunately didn’t have the cut I would have liked. I hope it will develop a little but it will never be a great one. This Puligny Enseigneres sounds really nice.

Always have thought Les Enseigneres should be 1er Cru .

the market prices it as such.

'15 Ruchottes I bought only in magnum. I think with enough bottle age it will be great. All the hot vintages of yesteryear are coveted today, so let’s see. Will be good party wine in a decade if nothing else.

Thanks for this. I am hopeful.
