Two-plus hour decant. Full ruby color. Big secondary aromatics of star anise, saddle leather & earth, smoked paprika, braised fig, rose hips and tea leaves. The palate is dense with fine expansive layers of raspberry & fig fruit, mineral tension, florals and earth spices that emerge with time and air. The structure is initially hard, later emerging into thick and plush through the middle, with vibrant acid that opens the fruit from front to back. Ample tannins show some give and polish, with a succulent and long finish. Excellent. Young-secondary. Requires a good decant or more time. 93+ (93 pts.)
