2016 Hirsch Vineyards Pinot Noir San Andreas Fault - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (8/6/2019)
Edgy and gamey, loaded with dark red cherry, juicy and complex. Young, needs time. Super potential.

Brian,
Don’t see this bottling very often but sampled the 2013 two years ago and enjoyed it very much. Nice note.
Cheers,
Doug
Nice color - your lighting was very good. Your notes sound very interesting too - something that I would be interested in trying for sure. In general, I was under the impression (perhaps incorrectly) that 2016 was an approachable vintage? To me, “edgy” would mean the opposite of approachable? Was it a PnP? Cheers!
Yes, it was PnP. Edgy in a Sonoma Coast way, earthy nose. Really deserved a good 2-3 hrs of air. The 2014 was similar.
