2014 Domaine Martelet de Cherisey Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Hameau de Blagny- France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru (8/4/2019)
Excellent. Nervous acidity frames beautiful perfectly ripe lemon yellow fruit. Great finish and this will only get much better. Mineral. Developing more complexity with time will make this truly outstanding. Out of magnum.
Perhaps underrated in the US because unavailable? Do they have a US importer? I see a single retail listing for any of the wines in the US, for the 2016 vintage.
The chalumeaux from this vintage is also very good. However this producer has one of the worst premox records of any I have had. I’ve had advanced wines 6 years from vintage.
Agreed, sounds lovely Don. As you know, I enjoyed very much a Sauzet 14 from that plot. For the others, from Jay Hack’s BerserkerFest a week and a half ago:

Light ginger and a marvelous lime not in the nose. Smooth, strong, beautiful and there’s a lemon-lime tang that is really attractive. Probably ended up my #5 today."
