TN: 2012 Morlet Coteaux Nobles

TN: 2012 Morlet Coteaux Nobles: Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. 14.5 ABV. Popped and poured, the cork was nearly black. Light aromatics and the wine is tight as hell. After 15 minutes the nose is dark fruits and spice. Black cherry and kitchen spices are starting to show themselves. At thirty minutes it is black cherry, a hint of cola and a flash of sweet cinnamon near the end of the finish, now at about 20 or 25 seconds. The cola surprised me but the wine hasn’t really opened up all the way. Some smokey cheddar would go really good with it right now and there is enough acidity to take on the cheese. This one can cellar many more years and I wish I had opened it 30 minutes to an hour before we started drinking it. There’s not enough left to say what it is like at one hour. Too good to wait.
