WTF? I missed might have missed that.

The Port was opened with Port Tongs, hence the missing top of the bottle.

Hmm, I see a maggie of Baudry . . . .

Jay has some ‘splaining!
There was a mag of Baudry, which I did not taste last night. Half of it was left in the bottle this morning. I put it in the refrigerator for now and I will report back later today. The Saxum 2009 James Berry Magnum that someone brought was OUTSTANDING. I am going outside not to arrange the bottles for a photo to post but that will take a while, because there are a lot of them spread over the back yard.
I got to the 2009 Baudry Grezeaux late but it was really, good. I’d still ho,d for at least 5 years though.
I have a few more. It had been awhile since I checked in. Glad you liked it.

I have lots more photos with other people but I was cooking and serving food for 8 hours so I'm a bit tired. There are people photos that I will post after I finish washing 75 wine glasses and about 200 prices of cutlery. Hooray. No plastic utensils were killed,in the making of this movie.

I used to like Dan. The only saving grace to the Bevan was that it wasn’t as bad as the nasty ghost wine he served me at Kittle House. I did like a Neal Cabernet, which showed plenty of character.

You wanted people photos? Unfortunately, my camera was wielded by a rank amateur who somehow managed to get photos out of focus despite the autofocus, but there are a few that are not terrible.

From right to left. Mera and Arnie Eisen, who have been hosting wine events in Golden's Bridge for over 60 years. The Countess, MMe. Svetlana Lipyanskaya. In front of her, the hostess Rebecca Schenk, behind her, The Count of Rego Park, Mikhail Lipyansky. Margie Russel, Executive Director of the NY Association of Realty Managers and organizer of the Not the La Paulee dinner of a few years ago. Behind her and partially obscured, the always cheery and lovely Cathy Dong, Margie's +1, Behind him, Dan, the Jewish Hammer, Hammer.

I opened it earlier in the morning using port tongs. You can YouTube to see many examples of it.

But, there's a Roumier 1er Cru.. if that's a clean bottle, that's probably WOTN.

Sorry I missed the show with the port tongs! That looks to be quite the elaborate process - and deserving of a 1970 vintage port!

If by black, you mean the guy wearing the gray tee shirt with sunglasses and graying temples, that's me.
Chris Savino is in the red shirt to the right, and David Cohen, no, not NY Mets David Cohen, is behind Sirot. Lastly, Clifton's wife Kathy is sucking up to Jay by wearing the NY Jets cap.

From left, Mike Reff, a very attractive young lady who Jorge has apparently convinced to marry him, and Jorge The Dominican.

Reff, Jorge and fiance.jpg
Jorge is so handsome the camera would have exploded if he was in focus

Dan, it may be the lighting, and I say this with respect, but my artist's eye observes gray hair turning white at the temples. Its a good look. Own it! [cheers.gif] -Jim

A couple more ... c’mon guys, I know I wasn’t the only one that took snaps
Yup, that's me. Too busy writing notes to take time for pics! Missed the Baudry, more's the pity and also never did get to the 09 Saxum. Also missed the 70 Warre's, but got my taste of the 70 Taylor, which was WOTD.

Notes *are* coming, probably tonight. I will post those in Wine Talk and cross-reference the thread here. I only had a small, small sniff and sip of the 66 Gonzales-Byass Oloroso but it was dynamite.

aww I guess I am not notable

Oh all right. Hiding behind Marcia with her name tag obscured, but now craving attention, Tantina from Durham with the really nice business card that my wife thinks is great.
Tina and I were trying to figure out which one of us won for furthest away. She and her + 1 Jason were delightful to meet and talk to. She's the one who brought the 09 Roumier. It was good and surprisingly semi-approachable.

Ed--so sorry I didn't get to see you, but kid-wrasslin' comes first, right?

And yes, I'm fine with Jorge staying pic-less and letting Lindsay represent the twosome [grin.gif]

Jay, nice job on the beard! Sporting the stay-cool-in-summer trim!

Thanks for labeling the photos with names - super helpful. In fact, I wish I would remember anyone's names as then I could do the same when I post photos!

Probably easiest to upload it on youtube as "unlisted" and then share the link here.

Behind her and partially obscured, the always cheery and lovely Cathy Dong, Margie's +1, Behind him, Dan, the Jewish Hammer, Hammer.
.

Group 1.jpg
Standing on the far left is Lisa Olsen-Billet who is married to Cousin Matt Billet.

Sorry we couldn't make it.
