TN: 2009 Château Mont-Redon Châteauneuf-du-Pape

  • 2009 Château Mont-Redon Châteauneuf-du-Pape - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape (7/26/2019)
Popped and poured from magnum. Dark red with no color change on the rim. Tannic, with good acidity that’s pretty much in balance. Getting some black fruits on the palate, but the wine is still extremely young. I would hold at least another couple of years in 750ml, and five years in magnum, before opening it. (90 pts.)

… and maybe open it well in advance.
Mont Redon is always a good, rarely great producer, often seen in French restaurants - and usually much more accessible.
