Waiting for confirmation, but pretty sure I got some of the Roumier. Anyone else score? Prices seemed very reasonable!

Those cuvees are not that common to find. Both the Liem and Henry books go into some pretty good detail about each of those plots. The Mutigny plot is from the next village over from Miniere, so out north and to the west of Reims. That plot is all Meunier, too.

Yeah, consulted the Liem book before requesting as I was unfamiliar, but seemed like a good chance to try something new (and as an Agrapart disciple, it only furthered my interest)

Andrew, did you pick up the Caroline Henry book yet? You can (or at least recently) could get a used copy that is in really good condition, for like 10 bucks. It has served as a good partner for the Liem book, and it's worth adding to your reference library, FWIW. For simplicity, here is the link.

The Remi Leroy offer today is spot on, glad to see these finally get offered. The 2013 BdB was strong, and it's pretty much unavailable but based on that vintage, if the 2014 can perform like the 2013, then it ought to be excellent.

Nice haul, Josh. I got mine last week and it was basically the exact same packaging as Envoyer. I don't love styrofoam shippers, but the wines always arrive intact.
FWIW if you order mags Scott ships them in cardboard champagne.gif
Or if you live close enough he just drives them down in non-shipping boxes :)

Brian, with Vilmart, it doesn't seem to matter what the vintage does (or doesn't), as Laurent seems to always hit the target. Vintage after vintage. This is what I learned about Vilmart, trust it, man.

I just joined the Lopa mailing list a couple months ago after Frank Murray recommended it. Saw the Dehu offer a couple weeks back. The Mascarello nebbiolo was this past week. Can't remember if I saw the Terre del Barolo.

Vilmart offered today......bitchen! [thumbs-up.gif]
I`m kind of miss some things on this board and this was one until Frank forwarded an email re the Vilmart offering and I not only opted for some, but signed up in the meantime. Nice to re-connect with Scott. Thanks Frank for the turn on.

Blake, that was a cool post.

He offered Margaine today. That was cool to see, as I enjoyed meeting Mathilde through our Zoom and now understand her wines better. I couldn't take everything but I did bite on the bottlings I though I would like.
My best wines for 2020:
2014 Marie Courtin Champagne Efflorescence Extra Brut
2012 Minière F & R Champagne Influence Brut
2008 Rhys Skyline PN SCM
2015 Ulysse Collin Champagne Les Pierrières
2014 Laherte Frères Champagne BdB EB Les Grands Crayeres

Me too. It's as if he's tracking our Zoom sessions. Actually, I would if I were ITB. Wine Talk is loaded with suggested inventory.

See you soon brother.

He definitely is. I think he even mentioned it in one of the emails. I think a large part of his customer base probably comes from WB in addition to a sizeable group of people he worked with at Envoyer.

I go beyond that and regularly pepper him with requests and suggestions, and I'm sure many others do that as well [cheers.gif]

BTW, where is Scott located? I'm assuming he's in OC and if so, perhaps I'll be able to pick up wines as I do at Envoyer when I make my journeys down to the area.

Blake, he is in the old Envoyer location, off Oso/I-5. They are 15 mins apart, with Scott closer to the ocean, and Greg in Irvine.

Yes, it does. Even still with Envoyer, I get email responses to my follow up stating "We are waiting on confirm from our supplier before we start invoicing".

I think Scott is a one man show and I suspect logistics suffer a tish because of it.

Lopa is pitching the Clos Cibonne as "Provence's answer to Lopez de Heredia's Rose". Anyone have experience with it and thoughts on similarities?

I went in for a few of each. Haven’t had it before but I’ve talked to people that confirm it’s reminiscent of LdH. Not as oxidative and fresher.

Maybe I'm a philistine, but I don't seem to get the highs and lows in rose as others. Maybe I get more melon or strawberries sometimes. Sometimes I get a bet of mint or peaches--but good rose is just good rose. I've had Cibonne '16, and thought it was good--just like almost every other rose I've had from Provence/Bandol.

It's pretty distinct from LdH in my opinion. Stylistic similarities, for sure, but the fruit profile is completely different, at least to me. That said, Clos Cibonne should be on your wine bucket list to try if you've never had it.

I'm pretty indifference to Rose, but Clos Cibonne does age well and is a serious wine. I wouldn't open it over dry wine if it was up to me, but if I was drinking rose, it's good.

Why do you make the distinction against dry wines? Do you not consider rose to be dry?
