Lopawines.com Thread

#1 Post by Troy Stark » July 25th, 2019, 1:50 pm

Not sure if any of you Envoyer fans ever dealt with Scott Kulek over there, but he has started his own wine retail/import project that appears to be running on the same business model Greg uses. The website is:

https://lopawine.com/password

Full website is supposed to be up shortly, but for now it's just a newsletter sign up form.

First offer was Bereche et Fils Champagne ‘Brut Reserve’ $39.99. Price seems in-line with on-line pricing. I'm not familiar with Bereche, but I know Scott tends to like the same kind of stuff we like, so am tempted. Anyone else an early adopter?

How much?? Paid $26 locally, fantastic QPR and might even be better than the 2008 Cubillo.

Yup, 18.99 each vs what seems to be a "good price going rate" of $25 (k&l, b-21).

Grabbed a couple of the Champagne just sent out: 2014 Laherte Freres Champagne ‘Les Grandes Crayeres’ Blanc de Blancs

Sounds interesting and $60 vs $80-100 on WS.

I was tempted to buy more but already bought a few bottles of that exact wine from Down to Earth Wines at $59.

It was same price as other stores you can find elsewhere and I think their '16 was $10 more than lowest WS.

16 was $5 less than WS pro low. 15 was marginally more but the only place that lists it is plum market which ships to relatively few places.

I’ve worked w Scott for a few years at envo tee so I’m happy to give him my business.

I have bought a lot of 2014 Marguet this year, so putting in a vote of confidence that these wines are going to be spot on, based on how I have found the limited work with the previous vintages. Exciting producer to me, for sure.

Haven’t bit on anything yet but, that’s mostly because I’ve been on an epic tear and need to press pause. Was definitely tempted by the dujac offer though....

AD, i never got the Savart offer. Wonder what happened, as i don't want to miss offers.

I guess the upside this time is that it doesn't matter as I gave up on Savart, as they can't bother to answer email or messages from a customer. I'm not going to buy stuff from producers who can't bother with their customers.

2013 Savart has been listed on their website for several weeks now, so I’m guessing there wasn’t an offer....he probably just purchased these bottles off of the site.
