TN: 2016 Donnachiara Falanghina Beneventano IGT (Italy, Campania, Beneventano IGT)

A very nice wine with floral and white fruit notes on the nose. Citrus and apricot with maybe a bit of Granny Smith apple on the palate. The website says there is no malolactic, which fits with the flavor profile. This wine is light on its feet with acidity and freshness. We ate this with a dinner of home made chicken in an Indian style not spicy but aromatic curry sauce - ginger, cardamom, turmeric, paprika, allspice, a bit of home made marinara and plain yogurt to match. The pairing was fine. (88 pts.)

Purchased at Zachy’s when the owner was pouring, along with the Taurasi (pictured here), which is sleeping in the cellar.
