  • 1966 Faiveley Mercurey 1er Cru Clos des Myglands - France, Burgundy, Côte Chalonnaise, Mercurey 1er Cru (7/14/2019)
    A savoury nose of freshly tilled earth, truffle, pine needle sap and decaying leaves. The palate is still very fresh and vibrant, with a line of minerally acidity and all sorts of savoury nuance. It is a wine of ample structure and builds through the palate, finishing with chalky dry extract.

it honestly occurred to me! For a rare occasion, I showed restraint. Unlike when one opens a “Chateniere,” probably the worst name for a vineyard I can ever remember—Myglands is tame.
