TN: 2007 Joseph Drouhin Griotte-Chambertin

  • 2007 Joseph Drouhin Griotte-Chambertin - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru (7/13/2019)
Pristine cork. Ruby hue. Nose of plum pits, violets, damp cellar, stone, fresh cut berry. Tart, somewhat candied Bing cherry fruit on opening which gradually deepened and evolved to become a serious layering of pure black cherry, dark raspberry, iron flecks, briar, and sweet earth. Satin texture, lovely acidity, and firm tannins leading to a moderately long finish of berry, iodine, and stone. Effortless finesse with aristocratic spine. First Griotte, with cherries very much in evidence. (92 pts.)
