TN: 2003 Chateau Le Crock

Decanted for an hour prior to drinking, and we consumed this over 3 hours or so. This went well with grilled skirt steak and veggies.

The wine was very dark ruby, with no bricking at the rim. The nose was quite St. Estephe, with leaden pencil shaving notes that eventually yielded to dark fruit. Remarkably, the wine actually drank young, with good acidity, fresh fruit and very prominent tannins. I feel that I should be able to enjoy this wine for the next decade easily. And at 25/btl this is a great value.

Deleted.

Thanks. In my own limited experience with Bordeaux, the cru bourgeois from St. Estephe have always provided great drinking and value (ormes de pez, le crock, and phelan segur have been some good qpr for me recently).

Glad to hear it’s good juice,

FWIW in English Chateau Le Crock is a salesman’s nightmare.

I remember having this and liking it a few years after release.

I thought there was some relationship with L.Poyferre here?
