TN: 2002 Arcadian Pinot Noir Francesca's Cuvée

  • 2002 Arcadian Pinot Noir Francesca’s Cuvée - USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Lucia Highlands (6/29/2019)
Darker ruby. Nose of sea air, sharp raspberry, earth, briar, and alpine flowers. Ripe yet stemmy dark cherry and raspberry fruit teaming on the palate with verve and deep concentration. Firm tannin and copious acidity. Long chiming finish of red raspberry, black cherry, brambles, and stony grip. Terrific wine right in the middle of its drinking window. (93 pts.)

Nice, Doug. The only Francesca I am holding is a 2005, which was a very gracious gift from Jud Reis. Any thoughts on how that might be doing these days?

Hi Merrill,

Judging from the 05 Pisoni sampled recently I might give it 2-3 years. IMHO it will be very good now and even better later.

Cheers,
Doug
