2015 Aubert Chardonnay CIX Estate Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (6/15/2019)
Briefly decanted at cellar temperature. Wine is gold in color and cloudy. Initial nose presented complex tropical fruits, but with some alcohol. On the palate, melange of silky pear, peach, lemon, and a few more indescribable citrus fruits. Voluptuous, but did have some acid to balance. The alcohol was initially concerning, but this blew off after decanting a bit. Overall, a complex wine, but still young. I might hold this another year or two to see what else develops. Drinking now, it’s still a wonderful chardonnay. (95 pts.)
