TN: G. Mascarello Langhe Nebbiolo Vdp 2015

G. Mascarello Langhe Nebbiolo Vdp 2015
Very beautiful transparent brick colored wine. The nose was elegant, cool and reveals the characteristics of nebbiolo. Very nice. On the palate the wine behaves exactly according to its nose and how it looks in the glass. An aristocratic liquid that at the same time feels light as a feather, but still has a great depth to it. You can tell it is not as serious as the barolo, but this is in my opinion what langhe nebbiolo is all about. Fantastic wine.

This was my first encounter with G. Mascarello and now I can’t wait to try some Monprivato I bought some time ago (however they still need time as it is 2013’s). It also motivated me to buy some of his langhe nebbiolo from 2016.

Sounds nice!

The Monprivato 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009 are great.
2011 and 2009 can be opened, I think.

Monprivato 2000 and 1994 weaker, ready do drink.

The Villero is also a wonderful Barolo by G. Mascarello. Interesting to compare to the Monprivato or to other producers’ Villero.

Villero and also Vigna Santo Stefano di Perno.

As is the 2003…

The Ca d’Morrissio 2003 is great and can wait …
December 2016 :
G. Mascarello Monprivato Riserva Ca d’Morissio 2003 : 18/20
