1978 Château La Fleur-Pétrus - France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol (6/2/2019)
Elegance personified. Highly perfumed nose of purple flowers, sweet tobacco, earth and blue fruits. There’s a honeyed vinous sweetness in the mouth, countered by savoury nuance. It is only mid-weight but deepens with air. Structural elements have all but melted away but the wine remains energetic the whole bottle through.
