TN: 2004 Domaine Roulot Meursault Les Vireuils

  • 2004 Domaine Roulot Meursault Les Vireuils - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault (5/20/2019)
Absolutely stunning nose. Showing that aged white burgundy kind of nose with elements of yellow fruit and truffle. Persistent. The palate is stunning. Still hiding the complexity a little but oh so gorgeous in the mid palate. The texture of this wine is amazing. Great finish. Roulot is so great when it is on.

Sounds great. Thanks for the note Don.

Jean-Marc speaks highly of 2004. I’ve noted he likes to end current release tastings with 2004’s; he blinded us on 04 Meix Chavaux in 2018 and 04 Luchets in 2013. Both, I recall, felt youthful though with the same mature weight Don mentions.

Thanks for the note. I have one I’ve been deciding if I should open or wait a little longer.

As an aside, I have been holding and drinking 18 bottles of this beauty because of a sale at Sherry Lehman. Not one with premox issues. The 2005 Tessons is another story. About 40 to 50% premoxed bottles.
