Question for those in NYC or others who live where wine cannot be shipped from certain states. I order a good deal of wine online, some of my favorite retailers being located in California. One issue I’ve faced is that some retailers cannot ship to New York so they inevitably end up on hold for pick up. Has anyone found a way to get their wine shipped to them? Perhaps by shipment to a neighboring state or another solution?

I don’t live in NY, but I know that a number of retailers, from California and elsewhere, who used to handle shipping themselves have turned it over to third party shippers.

Have it shipped to Minneapolis. From there, have it taken by barge down to New Orleans. From NO, have it taken by boat around Florida and up to South Carolina. From there, have it trucked up to south New Jersey and then just drive down to New Jersey and pick it up.
