TN: 2005 Domaine de la Pépière "Granite de Clisson" Muscadet Sèvre et Maine

#7 of 12. Finally, this is starting to show some aromatics!! In its youth, it was pure and crystalline but showed absolutely nothing in the way of aromatics; was previously like drinking a wine with a closepin on your nose. This bottle had nice aromas of mineral and lemon, and a good amount of richness. Not too dissimilar from a well aged chablis. Very enjoyable and an excellent example of aged muscadet. At or close to peak now to my palate.

Excellent
I still have a few buried. Thanks for the note.

Good muscadet is the Rodney Dangerfield of wine. It is low priced, often has a crystalline youth, and has great aging potential, yet is still gets little or no respect.

Cheers,
Warren

And with age often competes with mid-ldvel Chablis at a beetter price point.
