  • 2016 Domaine Guiberteau Saumur Les Motelles - France, Loire Valley, Anjou-Saumur, Saumur (5/12/2019)
    Very ‘Burgundian’ touch on this wine. Red fruit and some cab franc herbaceousness, but very elegant. Excellent acidity. I am becoming a very big fan of Guiberteau’s wines. Very good bottle of wine.

Thanks for the note. I’ve just started buying some Guiberteau. Do they drink well young? Did you decant the Les Motelles?

Yes and Yes. Very accessible and short decant. The Breze Chenin is great as well

Had the normale chenin recently and really enjoyed it—grippy with nice minerality. Excited to try the reds.
