    Rich in style with nutty, smokey citrus, complex and offering both intensity and power. (94 pts.)

    This wonderful stylish textbook Perrières is focused, mineral with stony citrus precision, brilliant layared and ultimately long. (95 pts.)

    Serious and more dense, with citrus richness and concentration, complex, long and exciting. (94 pts.)

Veal Sweetbreads

  • 2008 Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Ruchottes-Chambertin - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru
    Compact, tannic with underlying earth, a bit austere, lacks fruit and finesse. From an estate that mostly gives great interpretations of this terroir. (91 pts.)


  • 2010 Domaine Denis Bachelet Charmes-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru
    Spicy, raspberry and wild strawberry fruit, with a tense silky texture and mineral finish. A classic Charmes that maybe needs more time to develop more complexity. (93 pts.)

Anjou Pigeon

  • 2012 Alain Hudelot-Noellat Richebourg - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Richebourg Grand Cru
    Subtle aromas of raspberry and sweet blackberry coupled with nuances of earth with a velvety texture and some sweet spices on the long finish. A superb wine with great charm! (95 pts.)

Cheese Assortment

  • 2009 Château Rayas Châteauneuf-du-Pape Reserve - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
    Strong spiciness, structured with firm tannins and copious smoked earth, plenty of character firmed by strong mineral spine on the finish, which repeats the spicy notes. (92 pts.)

Great wines and thanks for the notes. Lafon really seems to be back on an upswing. That Perrieres has got hard to find though!
