I am still learning the ropes here and hope that I do not get banned for this - tonight we are drinking Kirkland Cabernet Oakville (2016). It was 18.99 at my local Costco and I can find absolutely nothing to complain about at this price point.
Good choice but most have sold out of it.

In the future, could you warn us about that beforehand?

Everyone on this thread is trying to give you some serious advice, and you're just gonna head off to a package store which services hobos?

At the around the $20 and under price point for reds I happen to really like and that frequently find their way into my rotation;

Chave CdR Mon Coeur
Coudert Roilette Fleurie
Lanessan
Olga Raffault les Picasses
Thivin Cote de Brouilly
La Rioja Alta Vina Alberdi
Cavallotto Langhe
Felsina Chianti Classico
Rodano Chianti Classico
Terre Nere Etna Rosso
Torbreck Woodcutters Shiraz

Foxglove
Rabble Red
Louis Martini
CS Substance
Tapiz

You can also probably find some good Kirkland or Cameron Hughes stuff in that range.

The Bogle regular Cabernet at $10 is also an excellent choice.

Plus, another recommendation for Marietta Arme. Shockingly good.

2015 Robert Mondavi Napa Valley. Might be able to find it at $20.

Neither of those is sub $20 a 750 mL bottle and the Mount Veeder is $30-40 in most markets.
It's not easy being drunk all the time. Everyone would be doing it if it were easy.

Guess one of the nice things about being in CA, $25 around me.

Saw this for $25 at HEB and 10% off that if you buy 6 of any bottle of wine. Close enough. I recall the last 2 years it's been in the $30-$35 range.

$25 is a pretty strong price in TX. Our HEB has it for $35 and Costco for $30.

I was going to suggest the Kirkland Brand Alexander Valley Cabernet but they haven't had it for a while.
I walk in today and the 2016 just came in.
Alison Crowe Winemaker
Same as before.
I just finished my last bottle of the 15.

I'm sure it will be great.
Love it every year!
If you Google the winemaker you see she has some good experience.

This is the best qpr cab that i get at costco.
I like it because it's not fruity.
Its got that sonoma cab/Alex valley cab chalky minerality thing going.

I will try it tonight after my bike ride at 7.

1 hour Ride in Silence escorted by motorcycle police through Wilmington. The ride aims to raise the awareness of motorists, police and city officials that cyclists have a legal right to the public roadways. The ride is also a chance to show respect for those who have been killed or injured.

Please keep something in mind here.
This is not going to rock your world and make you think you've hit the motherlode for $10.

LOL

Its a nice departure from the fruity wines that you find in the 20$ and under price range.
Great Tuesday wine.
I like Cab and Bordeaux and enjoy the lower priced Bordeaux superieur like the 15 and 16 camarsac.
For 10$ this is good.

Two Cal Cabs that I hawk at retail and haven't seen mentioned: True Myth out of Paso Robles and Requiem out of Washington.
We recently picked up some Requiem to try out. I thought it was reasonable for the price point and would buy more.

OK
Tried tonight and I like this just like the prior years.
A little drier and I do enjoy this wine.
Seriously......I want to know what the gang thinks here.

Locate this in Your Costco and try it.
Remember...…...it's a $10 wine.

Please report back with your thoughts.

We drank probably 3+ cases of the 2015, but have not tried the 2016 yet. For the price point, it worked well for us.

Keith

3 cases.
Good for you.
I remember when the Louis Martini Alexander Valley Cabernet 2014 got a score of like 95 from Parker I ibelieve. It was at a local wine shop and they had a few left.
I tried and liked it a lot.
Grabbed the last 2.
Fascinating that the terroir is that different in Sonoma being that it sits next door to Napa Valley.

bordeaux, chile or cameron hughes (though even CH might be north of $20 for cab) is what I'd do.

How do you stay on a Paleo diet if you're swallowing sub-$20 cabernet all week?

That's a mighty lotta residual sugar right there.

H3 - 2 for $20.
I have seen the H3 in Minneapolis for as low as $6.49 with the $3 mail in discount.
