2003 kistler vine hill- still alive and breathing

6 years ago when i moved from my last house, i still had some kistlers and thought they might be dead even then. this is the first of those bottles i’ve opened and i’m shocked and pleasantly surprised to report that this wine is very much alive! would a white burg purist think it’s ok, probably not, but there’s still some spine to this and it’s pretty breathtaking.
i remember many of these seeming oth 10 years ago but lo and behold this is pretty cool. yeah it’s got some butterscotchy notes but there’s much to like here.
i’ve always thought this was going down the drain. i’m looking at a much lighter wine than i had imagined and pleasantly surprised
