Coche-Dury Corton Charlemagne..."Red Burgundy Wine"?

What’s the story on the gold label Coche CC, saying “Red Burgundy Wine” on the label? Wasn’t worried when I receive this bottle, as someone in CT already mentioned it before…not a faked wine, just the way it was on label. Plenty of pics on google showing the same. Never remembering this discussed here before?

An importer label (US).
That´s not on most gold labels …
(and no idea why it´s called “red”)

Never seen that before…

Rudy bottle?

I’m no expert but I’d be happy to authenticate it for you!

questionable bottle buzz. previous vintages with gold label do not have “Red Burgundy Wine” on print.

bring it friday and let’s determine if it’s legit or not.

Galloni and Neal Martin drank one a couple years ago…same label.

it’s so beautiful that those of us not drinking it see red.

Checking on a few auction sources. Immediate inquiries don’t call it as a known thing, but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything.

I’ve also seen 93s with it. I do not doubt the authenticity.

Probably just lazy labeling?

finishes bottle
Yep. That is definitely not a red wine.

Something interesting… I was at wine house today in LA and they had this :

The bottle was labeled as “Corton” not Bourgogne and it was definitely Red.maybe this has something to do with it? I was previously unaware of this red bottling.

Cheers,

Lucas

Coche made the red Corton in only one vintage, 2013, after they obtained some additional land n Corton. Coche then budded over the Pinot to Chardonnay the next year.
