TN: 2009 Cameron Hughes 'Lot 303' [Stags Leap District]

2009 Cameron Hughes ‘Lot 303’ [Stags Leap District] Big 14.5% abv but it doesn’t feel heavy. Tannins are resolved, with some licorice and red berry notes. Not hugely concentrated but lovely texture. Pretty good, tastes a little better on day 2. I don’t get a lot of aromatic complexity out of this though. Good example of Napa cabernet as we had a red Graves last night too and they were like night and day in contrast. Bottle is brown, which I irrationally love. I’d slot this into the B zone in my gradebook.

How much $$$ are these Cabs typically?

$17-$30 bucks but averaging in the 20’s.

I’ve been having very good luck with my older orphan bottles of Cam’s cabs a recent 2008 lot 200 was really drinking well.

Cam Hughes Lot 609 at $30 was a steal. Decant it, and enjoy.
