- 2005 Castelgiocondo (Marchesi de' Frescobaldi) Brunello di Montalcino - Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino (4/28/2019)
PnP. Initially, this was pretty one dimensional with just red cherry on the nose and palate. After about an hour, some candied cherry and chocolate appeared on the palate with anise, dried flower, and red fruit aromatics. It evolved very well in glass the but my issue with the wine was the finish. Although the finish was red fruited and finely tannic, it was very abrupt. Enjoyable bottle of wine.
