2007 Produttori del Barbaresco Barbaresco Riserva Montestefano - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco (4/27/2019)
In June 2018 I had the opportunity to taste at the Produttori del Barbaresco. We sampled a vertical of the Ovello Riserva that day, but I was able to taste a 2007, and thought it was reaching a nice drinking point. While it’s still early days, I think this Montestefano is getting into a drinking window, if you are tannin tolerant. The classic red fruit, floral, leather, tar notes were all in play, with plenty of depth for further aging.
