A gracious and thoughtful article from Mike, whose feature column has apparently fallen victim to the economic realities of modern journalism. I certainly hope he’ll pop up somewhere soon.
Very sorry to see that Mike’s column with the Bee is ending - a terrific writer, with so many great wine insights over the years. I’ve learned a lot from his columns and other writings, and also hope we continue to see him write elsewhere.
Sad (and short-sighted) to see that Mike is being shed by the SacBee but he seems to be bidding adieu w/ no hard feelings.
I’ve learned a vast amount from Mike’s columns over the yrs and have enjoyed the opportunity to drink & break bread
with him any number of times.
However, I’m confident we have not heard the last word from Mike. He’ll pop up somewhere/sometime.
