TN: 1993 Bertheau Chambolle Musigny

Buzz and I split a small stash years ago. I got the corked ones and he got the good ones. Somehow this good one slipped into my grasp. Lovely nose of beetroot and forest floor, the fruit was dark cherry, at first a bit sour but cleaned up nicely, 93 acids well-integrated, tannins resolved. Lots of sediment. A real nice bottle.

Hey…2 for 3 to the good ain’t bad! [cheers.gif]

93’s are the best drinking 90’s burgs I’ve been encountering of late, definitely for white and I think also for red (better than '90, '96 and even '99, which does not seem to me ready). This was just the villages bottling I presume? So only 23 more years for my '16’s I guess.

So jealous, oldest Bertheau I got is ‘09!

Two bottles of '93 Bertheau Les Charmes I owned, both corked. I don’t drink/buy much Burgundy, but made me gun shy about Bertheau.

I finally opened my lone bottle of 1993 Bertheau Amoureuses… a stunning wine! Will report in more detail later.
