1998 Bosquet des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Tradition - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape (4/1/2019)

The last and the best of my bottles. 6th time I have had this wine over the last 17 years. Paired with steak au poivre. Decanted 2 hours before dinner. About 75% Grenache with the rest being mixed between 5 varietals. Made from 40 year old vines. Moderately sedimented. Brickish red color. Smooth and elegant and just a joy to drink at 21 years old. Notes of raw meat, leather, crushed grape skins and garrigue. Soft tannins and a silky finish. 94 points.
