TN: Cypres de Climens Barsac '13...(short/boring)

Tried this last night w/ dessert:

  1. Cypres de Climens AC: Barsac (14%; SarantyImports/Stamford/CT) Berenice Lurton 2013: Med.dark gold color; strong botrytis/peachy/apricotty bit figgy/Semillon some butterscotchy/Fr.oak/toasty slight volatile classic Sauternes fairly complex nose; soft/fat fairly sweet strong botrytis/peachy/apricotty/figgy/Semillon bit hot/alcoholic/volatile slight earthy classic Sauternes flavor; very long bit hot/alcoholic/fumey strong botrytis/peachy/apricotty some toasty/butterscotchy/Fr.oak slight figgy/Semillon finish; a bit hot/volatile but a pretty good Sauternes at a fair price. $25.00/hlf (TW)

A wee BP:

  1. When I saw the SarantyImports on the back label, I was a little gunshy to pull the trigger. One of the better wines from TotalWines I’ve tried. I have better luck w/ their sweet wines than their others.

Not trying to give TW a free pass on any other stuff they pull, but at least in BDX, if one sticks to the known names, it’s a safer bet. I’ve only had a few years of Climens 2nd, but they’ve all been pretty good.
