Shared this ystrday w/ Paul:
1. Cave des Onze Communes Torrette Dd'OC: Vallee d'Aoste (13%;; 75% PetiteRouge/25% Vien de Nus, Cornalin e Premetta; HandPickedSlctns/Warrenton/VA) 2016: Med.dark color; very fragrant floral/violets/lilacs almost Pinot-like light alpine/earthy lovely perfumed nose; lightly tart/tangy lovely floral/violets/lilacs/bit spicy light earthy/loamy flavor w/ light gentle tannins; very long bright/floral/violets/lilacs/alpine flowers fairly tart light earthy/loamy/dusty rather high-toned/Pinot-like finish w/ light bit tangy tannins; doesn't have the strong earthy/loamy/rustic character of many Val d'Aosta reds; reminds a bit of Sudtirol Schiava, a bit of OR PinotNoir; an absolutely lovely/pretty alpine red at a great price; a lovely Vin de Soif. $17.50 (KK)
A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. This wine comes from a co-operative of some 220 members, scattered the length of the Val d'Aosta. By definition, Torrette must be at least 75% PetiteRouge.
