Oops, I did it again

Without much forethought, I grabbed a bottle to bring to sushi tonight. It was really fine, but clearly far too young; much better days lay in its future. I checked my CT database to see if I had any more, and found my last tasting note from May 2018:

“I grabbed this for dinner without looking closely, thinking it was something else. While we loved it, it’s best days are clearly years away. Beautiful pale salmon color. Gorgeous nose of strawberries and blood orange, but the fruit on the palate is shut down; hiding and reticent, leaving the intense structure, minerals and acidity in the forefront. No vintage listed on the label; 2013 branded on the cork. Great with food tonight, but better in 5+ years.”

For me, experience is the ability to recognize my mistakes as I repeat them.

Cheers,

Warren

Hahaha!! Maybe next time you have someone double check which wine you grab.

I like to say that we learn from experience that we don’t always learn from experience!

That’s funny  At least you didn’t play with their heart or get lost in the game.
