TN: 2003 Le Grand Vin du Ch. Haut Beyzac, Haut Medoc

TN: 2003 Le Grand Vin du Ch. Haut Beyzac, Haut Medoc. A juicy berry nose with hints of licorice precedes an initially juicy entry then some drying oak tannin. Dark chocolate in the mouth with more air. Nothing over-ripe, roasted, or overdone here at all, though it’s certainly a bigger wine in light of the brutally hot vintage. For the vintage, this property met success, something many others cannot say. It’s drying now, so I’ll opt to drink the few more I think I have in the cellar over the next few years. $24 on release. 87 points as it nears its 17th birthday.
