TN: Washington State Trade Event

WASHINGTON STATE TRADE EVENT - North Loop, Minneapolis, MN (3/3/2019)

Amazing Event and here are the highlights. Wine of the event was the 2016 Cayuse Syrah En Cerise Vineyard and it was scary how good it is on a pop and pour. Back up the truck on that one as it will get better with time.

  • 2016 Cayuse Syrah En Cerise Vineyard - USA, Washington, Columbia Valley, Walla Walla Valley
Wow! This wine is amazing and very Northern Rhone like. Beautiful nose of white pepper, funk , floral and stones. Palate is super complex and multilayered. Medium to long finish and picks up some nice minerality on the finish. This wine is amazing at this stage of the game. Just think what this will be like in 10 years. 95-97. (95 pts.)

Thanks for posting. Looks like they had the best represented. Sounds like a lot of fun and good info.

I really liked the Leonetti wines. They don’t get enough love and would cost 3 times that price point in Napa.

Have not had much Leonetti although the ones I have had were good. Back in the day got on the Q Creek mailing list because they were less expensive than Leonetti. and I have stuck with them through the years.

Glad you had a chance to taste some of the crappy wines from Washington State. I’ll take you to the good places in Woodinville and Walla Walla when you come in June.
