After much hand wringing, I finally decided to pass on this offer. I may end up regretting it, but I've already got SQN and Andremily, and after going heavy with the Rivers-Marie Cab offer I just couldn't squeeze this one in.
I had almost the exact same experience...except I caved and placed the order.

I just got the letter and I think I'll bite. Does anyone know if they'll just let me pick it up from the winery instead of paying $70 for some shipper to manhandle my bottles for a few days? I pick up all of the wines I order from the Central Coast.

if you find out that’s the case let us know...would definitely drive up and get some golf in.

Fyi if you haven't played up there Soule Park is a really nice muni and Ojai Valley Inn a spectacular resort course. Makes for a great weekend of golf. Did that last Labor Day weekend and Nik helped out with a great dinner recommendation - Nocciola

We’re on the same page! Played OVI quite a bit but always wanted to check out Soule Park. And my wife and I had a great meal at Nocciola as well.

The wine sounds good but the labels look like a first attempt at a woodcut.

FYI, I emailed them about picking up from the winery and Nikolas responded with a very nice and personalized email, but they do not currently offer a pickup option.

Jordan,

You might want to see if he can arrange the wines hand delivered to a place in Ojai for you to pick up - would not be the same as going to the winery but 1) it would be cheaper and 2) would still allow you to get back up to Ojai, one of my favorite places to visit in CA . . .

Great idea Larry...have them deliver right to the 18th green at Ojai Valley Inn, will probably need a few drinks after my round.

I passed on Reva and RM cab (but got the chard and pinot) this year. Planning on buying the 5 pak if I can on Friday and possibly share the allocation of 1 each syrah and grenache.

Lisa P. Brown (WA) tasted the wines on Monday and from her post on Instagram it sounds like she was pretty blown away (but I don't think her actual reviews come out until the end of August).

It is interesting that she would taste these wines instead of Erin Brooks, who is the reviewer who handles this area. I wonder why?

Cheers.

Just ordered my 5 pack as well. I wanted a second White so I can try it early, so I also wishlisted a second 5-pack, although, if I get it, I may sell a couple of the reds because this is quite the big purchase for me.

At least 3 early birds got the worm. Looks like it's already sold out.

Got in on time to purchase and was checking out but learned they don't ship to PA. I emailed to inquire about 3rd party shipping options but haven't heard back and noticed in under 40 min it was sold out so I'm probably SOL.

I grabbed a 5-pack as well but didn't realize the speed at which it sold out. Hope they're good!

Oh I can assure you this vintage is more than 'just good' --- Jeb Dunnuck gave the 2018 Fingers Crossed Syrah a perfect 100 score!

"97-100"
"The 2019 Syrah TBD is also magical stuff. Mostly destemmed (there are 25% stems) and aging in 70% new French oak (mostly from Bien Nacido), its deep purple color is followed by incredibly pure crème de cassis and blackberry fruits that give way to more peppery, meaty, spicy notes with time in the glass. Full-bodied, concentrated, yet also flawlessly balanced, it has plenty of tannins and a great finish. My instincts say 2-4 years of bottle age are going to beneficial, but this is brilliant." - Jeb Dunnuck

Another killer wine, and one that tops out on my scale, the 2018 Syrah Off The Record checks in as 93% Syrah, 2% each of Grenache and Mourvèdre, and the rest 3% Roussanne that saw just 22% stems and spent 20 months in 68% new French oak. Dense purple-hued, with awesome notes of smoked black fruits, smoked game, ground pepper, beef blood, spice, and violets, this beauty is full-bodied and elegant, with a perfect mid-palate and a great, great finish. Only the second release from this winery, this incredible Syrah seemingly has one foot in California with its ripe, sexy fruit and one foot in the Northern Rhone with its gamy, meaty, peppery, and wildly complex style. While it doesn’t have the same weight as say Sine Qua Non, Alban, or Andremily, it’s flawlessly balanced, insanely complex, and has a style all its own. It will ideally be given 2-4 years of bottle age and will cruise for 10-15 years as well. Don’t miss it!

Wow. For me, that sounds like pretty much a perfect tasting note, so now I'm even more excited to try this... eventually. Also, I'm glad he revised the wine since the barrel tasting and wasn't afraid of changing his mind compared to the barrel tasting. Did he also revisit the Grenache now that it's been bottled?

Yes - he did revisit the 2018 Fingers Crossed Grenache and he gave it 98 points:

Based on 75% Grenache, 11% Mourvèdre, 11% Syrah, and the rest 3% Roussanne, the 2018 Grenache Off The Record saw 45% whole cluster and aging all in barrel. It has a rich, savory, almost Rayas-like bouquet of gamey red and black fruits, ground pepper, toasted spice, spring flowers, and hints of bloody meat. Beautifully textured, full-bodied, and elegant on the palate, with plenty of stem influence, this complex, layered, brilliantly done 2018 is going to benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and keep for 10-15 years. It’s a stunning example of Grenache from California!

As good as 2018 looks, the upside on 2019 looks even higher, assuming the Grenache pulls through! :)
