NV Eric Rodez Champagne Grand Cru Cuvée des Grands Vintages - France, Champagne, Champagne Grand Cru (2/16/2019)
November 2017 disgorgement.
Very winey, with deep red fruit, woodsy, earthy tones, and a lifted, bright finish. It reminds me more than a little of Krug, but with more fruit, but not quite as much depth. Given the price it’s a really good value, and also a great match with gougeres.

I guess. It doesn’t seem that way with champagne, which we drink so often. We rarely buy less than a case of champagne we know or assume we’ll like, unless it’s price prohibitive. On the very rare occasions we’ve end up with too much of something we don’t really care for, someone else in our circle of friends and family has always been happy to inherit it.
