2017 Carl Loewen Riesling Trocken “Alte Reben” - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (2/8/2019)
– popped and poured –
– tasted non-blind over approx. 1.5 hours –
NOSE: no petrol; stone fruit; lychee; moderately expressive.
BODY: lightly-colored; medium-light bodied.
TASTE: dry; no petrol; medium acidity; peach is the main fruit flavor; very good, but lacks any particular “excitement factor.” Might be willing to try again, from a different vintage. Gut impression score: 88 - 90.
