TN: 2014 Rizzi Barbaresco Pajoré

  • 2014 Rizzi Barbaresco Pajoré - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco (2/14/2019)
Nose: The nose is pretty and nuanced with strawberries, red cherries, rose petals, herbs, licorice, wild spices, and savory notes. This shows off excellent depth and has a perfumed, red-fruited nature to it.

Taste: The feel is medium bodied with high acidity and high tannins. The tannins feel a bit unrefined with the acidity showing a fresh side to it. The feel is lighter on it’s feet with strawberries, red cherries, rose petals, licorice, wild spices, and some herbs.

Overall: This is a very pretty and demure Barbaresco. It shows off good depth on the nose, but the palate is a bit too light right now. Still, the nose is worth it alone and if this can add a bit of weight in the next few years it will be a perfect early to mid-term drinking Barbaresco. (90 pts.)
