TN: 2012 Rhys Horseshoe Chardonnay

Short tasting note because I am nearly speechless.

Fabulous Santa Cruz Mts. Chardonnnay. Nicely lean and crisp, lightly oaked and terrior soaked with deft white fruits. Active bouquet. In the rarefied range of top California Chardonnay. I am a happy man tonight.

This gives me paws.

But yeah, 12s are drinking great right now. We had a 12 Alpine Chard recently that was really fantastic.

Cat paws or dog paws?

Had this tonight and this is just a great wine. Sharp acidity, voluptuous fruit and – with all of that – well balanced. This was my last bottle. It could certainly get better and maybe even reach brilliance, but I don’t regret opening it now.

I’ve loved every one of these I’ve had.
