anybody try 08 Pol Roger Churchill?

more expensive than other recent vintages, is it a must in this vintage?

I guess it depends on your disposable fund and how much you enjoy Pol Roger Churchill.
I’ve had it and it’s very nice but…
For myself I would buy the 2004 and save the extra $65.
So for me, no it’s not a must have.

I took the plunge and got 2 boxes, six each, 2008 OGBs at auction for $179 all in including premium and tax because I always find that I am short on bubbly. I was very happy with the price. I took delivery last week and the two boxes were from London and the tape used to seal them was from a shipper that I know sends things cold chain, so I think I am OK. I have not had a celebration yet justifying opening one.

My favorite release of Pol Roger SWC in a while. Already approachable and enjoyable. Yes, the price has gone up not insignificantly, but for me it is still a buy in smaller quantities.

I agree it is very approachable. (In a way that say the 1996 really was not on release.) A small sample was very very good but didn’t blow me away. I expected a little more tension in the midpalate. Maybe because I tried it a few minutes after Cristal. However, my experience with young Churchill is it is essential to follow a bottle over a couple hours to really get an informed opinion. That I haven’t done. Why not buy a bottle and see if you like it?

I liked it but am not a buyer at those prices, going longer on Cristal and especially dom.

then I would not have needed to ask the question.
