Example of highly allocated, yet inexpensive wines?

Do you all have a favorite wine that is not traditionally expensive, but find increasingly hard to get?

My examples are:

Graillot—get offered about a case per year @$30-ish
Metras—this is all over the place, in terms of quantity.
Gonon—usually only get offered a case in the $60-$70 range.

graillot crozes? It’s not that hard to find. Gonon is another story.

I’ve noticed it’s pretty readily available online, buyback my market (Colorado) doesn’t tend to get a ton.

Sandlands

Sandlands is the first one that pops into my head.

Sandlands is a great one. Cruse to a lesser extent.

Lopez de Heredia rosado. Barely any of the most recent vintage (2008) came into the Seattle area. my usual local retail source couldn’t get any (even though I buy a bunch of RLdH through him). Finally found a different source who got all of 1 case. One bottle per person limit.

How much was it? Two months ago $200 at auction, today over $300 and counting

Vatan - Only getting 3 bottles now.
Gonon - After 10 vintages of full cases, St. Joe and Iles Feray, cut to 6/6 in 2016, and no more VV
Juge - But now gone, cut to 6 after years of full cases at $50
Benetiere
Rougeard - Cut after 2011 vintage, and was still “inexpensive” for the quality.
Plouzeau Ante Phylloxera Chinon - Stuck at 6, $50 per, but still an incredible wine at a great price

$30

Gotta know the right board members who buy this in pallet-sized quantities! [wink.gif]

Damn LA flippers!

More complaints about the unmoderated acquisition of northern Rhône wine?

That was a joke, Tom

I know, same here. I didn’t get the flipper part if that’s part of the joke.

Wendouree Shiraz $45US
Rockford Basket Press $50US

Guys. Our kids have expensive preschools out here in Los Angeles. Costs more than Alfert’s mortgage in Orlando. Corrupt wine arbitrage via my moderator status is the only way to pay it!!
