So, what's this new Cruse sparkling wine?

From the save the date email:

For the past three years, we’ve been quietly working on a new sparkling wine that is finally ready to share! So mark your calendars as we will be sending an email on Tuesday, February 12th with a link to your allocation for Cruse Tradition and our other offerings. We’re so excited for these wines and we thank you for your tremendous support!

Is this methode champenoise, ancestrale, what?

other than ultramarine?

Per the save the date email, this is a new sparkling wine being offered for the first time. And it’s being offered with the eponymous wines, not with Ultramarine.

I’ve enjoyed the Cruse sparklers - can’t wait to see the details of the offer.

Found this blurb in Esther Mobley’s 2016 Winemaker of the Year profile:

Cruse hopes to make traditional-method sparkling wine under Cruse Wine Co., too — but it won’t be like Ultramarine. He pictures a nonvintage, California-appellated sparkling, meant to sketch his vision of California beyond a single vineyard.

I’m guessing that’s what this new wine must be.

Cruse Tradition released today. Looks promising.

based on the description it appears to be a traditional method 2016 vintage sparkling wine 85% chard 15% pinot noir, aged on the lees for 2 years.

Sounds to me like a baby Ultramarine and I’m definitely all in for that.
