2014 Domaine Pierre Guillemot Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Serpentières - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru (2/2/2019)
Decanted 6 hrs. A pretty big blast of herb infused strawberry and underbrush arrives in welcome fashion on the nose, a little funk too for a little extra kink. Immediate wave of acidity hits first then crests into a pretty well behaved and charming Burg. Yet to really take shape, this still has a lot of interesting things going on: tart red fruit that is tamed by our salmon, savory, good mineral thrust on the finish. Assuredly to improve after being kept sideways for a few years. Excellent and a very good value at $42 (90 pts.)
